Version 1
Technicaltalk: Writing Faster QtQuick
Down and Dirty with QSGNode
In this talk we present some tips we've learned during Plasma for getting the most out of QtQuick and look at some tips in rendering large scenes at high frame rates.
In this talk we present how to get the most out of QtQuick, covering the basics of how scenegraph stores data and how to manipulate it directly from C++.
We will look at how to implement custom items using QSGNodes to display custom shapes using OpenGL directly rather than rendering through QPainter. We will then look at how to write custom shaders to implement advanced graphical effects.
In addition we will look at various tools used for debugging QtQuick including QtCreator's profiler and apitrace, an OpenGL debugging tool.
