How to make the most out of Qt Quick
Qt Quick is an exciting new technology that is more and more used in KDE. It is a new language, a new library, and a new approach to designing user interfaces. It also requires new tools for developing, debugging, and profiling. This talk will give you an overview of the tools available, and show you in a hands-on manner how to use them.
The talk will give you an overview of the different tools and API's available that can help you getting the most out of Qt Quick 1 and Qt Quick 2.
After a quick overview of what Qt Quick is we'll start creating a simple example, and preview stuff with tools like qmlviewer/qmlscene. We see how we can do simple debugging and profiling with the help of the console API. We see how to use Qt Creator to design, profile and debug an application.
In the second slot we'll gain a better understanding of the internals of the engine, and collect tips & tricks to make your QML application perform better. Finally, we will have a look on how to provide e.g. code completion for your own QML modules available in Qt Creator, and what other editors like kdevelop and Plasmoid are available.
