Boudewijn has been the maintainer of the Krita digital painting application since 2004 and created the Krita Foundation in 2013. Krita reached out to attract artists from all over the world and is now recognized widely outside the free software community. Next to Krita, Boudewijn's involvement with KDE software on mobile platforms began in five years ago, when Nokia decided to use KOffice as the base for the document viewer application on Maemo. MeeGo and Sailfish followed.
