Description

Fedora KDE has had an exciting few years with a growing community and significant efforts between Fedora and the KDE project, with the latest milestone of Fedora KDE becoming a recognized flagship offering in the Fedora Project as the Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop Edition.

This presentation will briefly cover the recent history and contextualize it for the future developments emerging to attract and grow the mind share and market share for KDE through Fedora.

Biography

In addition to being a consultant at Velocity Limitless and co-host of the Sudo Show podcast, Neal Gompa is a developer for and contributor to Fedora, CentOS, and openSUSE. Neal focuses primarily on the base Linux system components, such as package and software management, and desktop Linux. Notably, he leads the Fedora Personal Systems WG and Fedora KDE SIG, which produces the Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop Edition. He's a big believer in upstream first, which has led him all over the open source world.
